Dija_NEW01 copyQ: Why did you become a filmmaker?
KR: I knew at a young age that I wanted to be a filmmaker. I love telling stories. I was an Air Force brat so we moved a lot. Films were my friends and telling stories were what helped me connect to people.

Q: What are your hopes for the event?
KR: My hope for this event is to meet other filmmakers sharing our works, ideas and building a stronger film community.

Q: How important is it to focus on regional women filmmakers?
KR: It’s important to have events like these, focusing on regional women filmmakers, because It creates a support system and networking opportunities. Also, It increases visibility of women filmmakers in front and behind the camera.

Q: Who would enjoy attending the festival? Is it just for the filmmaking community, or is there a reason why non-filmmakers should attend?
KR: Watching films in a festival environment is refreshing and exciting, it’s an intimate and personal experience. Non-filmmakers would really dig the energy and the different styles of films.

Q: Is there anything you’d like to say about Colorado Independent Women of Film?
KR: I would like to thank Colorado Independent Women of Film for this opportunity and for creating this event where women can come together and share our works!

Q: Where can people go to find out more about you and your work?
KR: I’m still working on my website, but people can find me on:
